WAGGGS Europe Committee Member

The Europe Regional Committee is seeking a new member who will play a key role in driving our ambitious plans to offer a quality Girl Guiding / Girl Scouting experience to many more girls and young women in the Region.

The new Europe Committee member will join the team midway through the current triennium. Therefore, considering the competencies and knowledge of the current members and the portfolios that the person will be leading, we have identified necessary skills and knowledge which you can find in the call.

We look forward to receiving applications for this exciting opportunity and to welcoming a new person to our committee!




Chief Volunteers Network Meeting postponed!


The Chief Volunteers Event, initially planned for 1-3 December 2017, at the Kaprálův mlýn Scout Centre in the Czech Republic,  is now postponed to 9-11 February 2018, at the same venue.

The official invitation will be sent out shortly.

We wish to apologise to everyone who retained the initial date in their calendar.

Joint Communication 12 2017 – Call for Bids to Host The Academy 2018

The Academy is a joint event of WOSM and WAGGGS working in partnership at European level, with key participation of volunteers and staff from both the Europe Region WAGGGS and the European Scout Region.

The present Joint Communication invites interested associations of both Regions (National Scout Organisations and Member Organisations)  to indicate their interest to host The Academy 2018 by submitting a short paper which addresses the points indicated in the Joint Communication:

Regional Circular 24 2017 – Open Call to Recruit volunteer Consultants to support the Working Methods Team of the European Scout Region

The European Scout Region has launched an Open call to recruit volunteer consultants to support the Working Methods Team of the Continuous Improvement Area of Operation in its work to develop the next European Scout Plan.

Regional Circular 23 2017 – List of Events and Opportunities in the European Scout Region till the end of 2018

The European Scout Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) is pleased to share with you a list of proposed events agreed by the European Scout Committee (annex 1 of Regional Circular 23 2017). There may be some changes to the list, but it was felt that it was important to share a comprehensive a list as soon as possible to assist in your planning.

In annex 2 of Regional Circular 2017 you will find a list of possible applications for grants allied to the published deadlines where we anticipate the calls for participation to come (Annex 2). We hope this will at least give you a heads up before the formal calls are launched by the grant giving agencies.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our organisation provide a professional administration function to support the work of the Europe Region of WAGGGS and the day to day upkeep of the WAGGGS Europe office, focusing on communication, financial and HR processes, office-related tasks and meeting logistics.

About You:

As the successful candidate you will have significant experience undertaking administration duties in a busy office and financial and HR procedures in the Belgian context.

You will have ideally of experience of AISBL regulations and Belgian labour law, working with and managing external suppliers and drafting and formatting documents in English and French.

You will have a great track record of developing and maintaining effective administration systems, working with a minimal supervision and taking the initiative.

It is essential that you can demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and French, both written and verbal.
