In November 2012, the Joint Committee decided to conduct an evaluation of review achievements, results and learning from joint work in Europe in the current triennium (2010-2013).

The decision to undertake a joint evaluation was grounded in the shared willingness to be more effective and accountable in meeting MOs/NSOs’ needs and expectations through actions delivered in partnership between the two Regions.

In order to ensure that the evaluation process was carried out in an objective and neutral manner, an external consultancy, The Social Investment Consultancy, was appointed to undertake the assignment. The Social Investment Consultancy is an international consulting firm using the latest thinking in social enterprise and impact investment to help businesses, charities and philanthropists maximize social impact.

Many of you met the consultant Ms Rachel Linn, at the International Commissioners’ Forum in December 2012 or have talked with her since. We would like to thank everyone who kindly dedicated time to contribute to this important process.

The evaluation process was completed in March and the Joint Committee had the chance to exchange reflections on the results at its recent meeting. We are now pleased to share the report and reflections with you.
