11th Network Meeting for Guide and Scout Representatives
to National Youth Councils and the European Youth Platforms
20-22nd October 2006 Rome, Italy
In order to assist in the implementation of resolution Society
7 adopted at the 8th European Guide and Scout Conference, the
Europe Region organised a meeting in 1996 for those Scouts and
Guides involved in influencing Youth Policy on behalf of their
National Association in a National Youth Council and those representing
European Guiding or Scouting in the European Youth Structures.
As a result of that first meeting it was decided to organise a
similar meeting every year alternately organized by WOSM and WAGGGS.
The 11th meeting, organized by the Europe Region WAGGGS, took
place in Rome between 20th and 22nd October 2006, kindly hosted
by the Federazione della Scautismo Italiano.

Using Scouting's Centenary for Adult Resources
In 2007 we celebrate our 100th anniversary. We will celebrate
the achievements of the past 100 years, we will celebrate Scouting
today and we will celebrate the commitment that Scouts worldwide
undertake to make a difference in their communities. Most importantly
however we will celebrate the future, looking ahead to a second
century of Scouting.

The aim of establishing the Resource
Pool is to better co-ordinate the resources needed for the European
Scout Region to provide effective and efficient support to NSOs/NSAs
in order to develop their capacity to offer and deliver better Scouting
for more young people.

The Council of Europe (CoE) Campaign
All Different All Equal on diversity, human rights
and participation was launched in June 2006. The themes of Campaign
are in line with many of the aims of Scouting and are a good opportunity
to promote and demonstrate what Scouting is doing on these issues.
Since the Campaign is running until 2007, a mid-term evaluation
of the involvement of NSA/NSOs can be helpful.
