On the 27 June 31 participants from 26 different associations in 22 different countries around Europe will meet in Brussels to participate at the leadership development ‘Train the Trainer’ NLDP (National Leadership Development Programme) event organized by the Europe Region.

This event responds to the 34th World Conference decision, to deliver elements of the WAGGGS Leadership Development Programme (WLDP) at a National level to the member organisations.

WAGGGS is achieving this through the National Leadership Development Programme (NLDP) that was launched as a pilot in May 2013.

It also responds to the interest from the Europe Region’s Member Organisations to cascade down and roll out the WAGGGS Leadership Development Programme (WLDP) to the MOs in order to:

  • Develop their capacity building to strengthen the national boards,
  • Develop and support national leaders/trainers and facilitators
  • Support leadership development through its unique framework and approach.

Europe Region WAGGGS provides a platform for leaders from diverse backgrounds to share experiences in leadership development as part of capacity building within Europe Region WAGGGS and across its Member Organizations whilst enabling them to cascade down and deliver the National leadership development programme (NLDP) at a National level.

                                         NLDP Mix

Participants attending the event will be exposed to elements of the WLDP that include:

The learning approach, new facilitation methods, the WLDP content and materials, other core leadership topics and some further development and innovative ways on how to train other Trainers in their MO.

This European NLDP event will also have an additional focus on the topic of gender equality, in alignment with the European Membership Development Strategy, where gender is a key thematic strategy.

The event will have a non-formal education approach, it will be intergenerational, value based and with people coming from 22 different countries it will certainly be a multi and intercultural event!
