Call for Partners to join funding project: Agora 2014

WOSM ESR Circular 16 2013 – Agora is an educational tool that uses the Scout Method to reach the educational objectives for the rover age section and that has a special emphasis on youth empowerment. What makes an Agora so special is that it is an event run “for Rovers, by Rovers”. As a result, the event looks at issues that are of importance and relevant to young people in our society today. WSB European Office is looking for partners  to join funding project Agora 2014 .

To facilitate the participation of NSAs or NSOs to Regional Events the Regional Office always tries to get funds from external sources and surely one of the main sources of funding for Scout activities is the Youth in Action Programme of the European Commission. When applying for funding for our activities, we need to have a number of partner organisations. Those partner organisations are the ones, which will get financial support.

Therefore we are launching this Call for Partners to join funding project: Agora 2014 that will take place in  March/April 2014 in Lyon, France.

To be a partner organisation, NSOs or NSAs have to complete a Preliminary Agreement of the Partner form for the activity. Only participants coming from partner organisations are considered a part of the official project and can be reimbursed. (Others may participate but with no funding assistance).

What costs can be covered by the grant?

– Participant travel costs: 70 % of travel costs from home to the venue of the project and return using the cheapest method and fares (Economy class ticket, 2nd class train ticket)

– Project costs

For each NSO and NSA this means that if you are a partner:

– Only 30% of the travel costs to cover

– Lower participation fees

Additional condition:

Please note that each partner organisation to this grant engaged itself to send a minimum of four (4) rovers to this meeting.

Please note that besides participants from all the EU member states also NSOs/NSAs from the following countries are eligible to become partners: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey.

If your NSO/NSA is interested in attending the Agora 2014 that will take place in March/April 2014 (date to be confirmed) in Lyon, France, and you wish to benefit from the funding support:

Please complete the Identification of Partners Form (Annex) and send it by 25 September 2013 by email to Marguerite Potard (mpotard@scout.org). We will kindly ask you to not transform the ANNEX in PDF or to send a scanned version in order to facilitate the copy of the information.

You will be contacted only after the reception of this document is properly filled in and asked to sign within four days in original the Preliminary agreement of the partner that will be sent back to you.

The deadline to receive the completed Annex at the WOSM Brussels Office is 25 September 2013.
